Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. Alison Krauss and LeAnn Kymes were two of the youngest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss, born 23rd July 1971, is an American artist and performer. She began to work in the music business at a very young age. At the age 10 years old, she took part in local contests, and then recorded her debut album. In 1985 she was signed by Rounder Records. Her first solo album came out in 1987. She was then invited to be a part of Alison Krauss Union Station, her current band that she sings with. Her debut album together as a band was released in 1989.
